Five Reasons why Miami Heat will win Game 5 of the NBA Finals

lebron jamesThe Heat are against all odds in winning the series. In the history of the NBA no team trailing 3-1 has ever pulled off three consecutive victories to win it all. There’s a big mountain to climb that not even the great teams were successful in accomplishing a daunting task.

Losing two consecutive blowout games at home for the Heat was not acceptable at all. The energy level of the Heat in Game 3 and Game 4 was not sufficient to stay close with the San Antonio Spurs. Probably the Spurs were playing the best basketball that Miami have no more weapons to utilize.

It may be hard to win the series but I believe that the Miami Heat will extend the series, and everybody wants it, except those Spurs fans. Here are the reasons why:

1. LeBron James – With James in the roster, anything is possible. James averages 27.5 points per game, 60% shooting from the floor. He has decent numbers and that he is the most consistent player in the Finals. The No 1 player in the world hasn’t displayed his best performance yet. Game 5 is the time.

2. Dwayne Wade – Shooting abysmal 3 of 13 with only 10 points in Game 4? This is not D-Wade that the basketball world expected him to produce. Never forget how Wade navigated the Miami Heat into beating the Mavericks in 2006. If Wade shows up, the Heat will compete even on the road.

3. Defense – The Heat’s aggressiveness in defense was nowhere to be found in the last two games. Miami might use different defensive scheme in today’s game that will topple the almost flawless offense of the Spurs.

4. Mario Chalmers – In the pointguard position, the Heat were terribly beaten. Chalmers is not in the level that he had a season ago. Coach Erik Spoelstra might design plays for Chalmers to awaken him to play tough in offense and defense.

5. Champions will not easily give up – The unwillingness of James, Wade and Chris Bosh to make this game their last in The Big Three Era will play a significant role in Game 5. The motivation to win defy all odds playing in a hostile environment. History is against their side and they will change gears.

Vegas oddsmakers gave the Spurs -5 1/2 for the spread.
